cracklib-runtime software package provides runtime support for password checker library cracklib2, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cracklib-runtime
cracklib-runtime is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cracklib-runtime package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cracklib-runtime *
You will get with cracklib-runtime package name, version, architecture and description in a table
